Host a Morning Tea For Culture to support Aboriginal children in care heal and connect to culture.
We invite all groups, workplaces, churches, schools to host a morning tea and help Aboriginal children in care.
Everyday VACCA works with disadvantaged Aboriginal children and families in Victoria. We are grateful for your participation in hosting a VACCA Morning Tea to help fund our cultural programs to ensure the next generation can be connected, heal and learn from their culture. Last year VACCA supported over 6,000 thousand Aboriginal children, youth and family members. We provide health and educational opportunities and pathways to connect with their culture. There are now over 2,000 Aboriginal children in foster care, kinship care and residential care in Victoria.
With Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC just around the corner, May to July is an ideal time to plan when you can host your morning tea and get involved. You can also host a morning tea anytime.
Important – Please start your fundraising page today!
You’ll also receive a Host Pack in the mail. The pack includes how to get started with planning for your morning tea, getting the word out and fundraising. The pack also includes information posters about how to increase your cultural awareness, how our cultural programs make a difference to Aboriginal kids, and information about important issues like Treaty and Self-determination. By hosting a morning tea your group can learn more about Aboriginal culture, issues and how to help Aboriginal kids in care.
If you have already received your pack, then you just need to click Start Your Fundraising page and plan your event – it only takes a couple of minutes to get started.
The funds you raise will make a difference to Aboriginal children in care and in our programs – every dollar counts.
