2 of our Centurion Pups, little red Moe and Smoky, now 18 weeks old, have been sick little boys since coming into our care 7 weeks ago. They’ve been on extended courses of antibiotics for oral and nasal infections, which just haven’t cleared up. Upon further investigations, sedation and x-rays, it appears that they have deformities with their mouth, jaw and teeth. Sometimes due to a trauma sustained as a youngster, we suspect given they are brothers and the situation they have been rescued from, that inbreeding could be the cause and this an issue since birth.
They both have ongoing infection and nasal discharge, have had teeth some teeth removed while under for castration, they both have cysts in the tooth cavity, as well as lysis of the fine bones in the nasal passage and osteomyelitis (infection of the bone). You can see Moe’s x-rays show one incisor is growing sideways into his other teeth. We have already spent in excess of $2300 on these two pups rescue, vet visits, x-rays, treatment and care. Moe has seen the dental specialist last week, and the quote is $3,000 for his surgery to remove the unerupted teeth and remove the cyst that is already forming. Smoky is being treated with another extended course of antibiotics but will then need to come down to the specialist dental surgeon as well.
We are absolutely strapped at this time of year, with so many dogs being dumped that need us, and we really need your help to give Moe & Smoky their best chance at a healthy, happy and long life, if you can please spare anything towards their vet bills we will be so grateful.
Thank you so much and Merry Christmas!
