The SYO Enterprise Fund is designed to support the organisation’s long term strategic goals. These investors have supported the SYO business to implement web and IT infrastructure including a Customer Management System, the purchase of a vehicle for moving equipment, acquisition of rare instruments required for orchestral repertoire and the expansion of the SYO Music Library.
Management Infrastructure – As a small not for profit arts organisation, with music education at the heart, there are times when investment is required to insure we can service our members, extend our reach and improve our business practices. A key component of our strong future means growth in SYO’s membership. In 2016/17 we are focused on implementing a multi-purpose customer relationship management system with a new web interface to support this growth
Instruments & Equipment – SYO is contacted almost every day with enquiries regarding instruments that we might own and be able to lend, provide or share. We do what we can with the small number of instruments we have, but we also need to prioritise those students enrolled in our own orchestral training programs who have invested in advancing their skills to a very high level. All instruments donated or purchased on behalf of SYO, are serviced regularly and stored is appropriate conditions when not being used.
Music Library – with 700 catalogued works, thousands of digital parts and scores the SYO music library is an important foundation to all our activities. Built over the past 43 years, this music is available to our members and other not for profit organisations (youth orchestras, community bands, charities and schools). We aim to build this resource for our members and provide an additional income stream through commercial music hiring in the future.
