URGENT HELP NEEDED – DONATIONS REQUIRED – WE ARE SHORT
As you probably know, we’ve had a pretty tough few weeks. With the injury to Zippa and the skyrocketing bale prices, tonight, we are turning to you for help.
Our worst nightmare happened after Zippa had been here for three weeks. There was a big dry storm here, whirly winds, dust and leaves flying everywhere. Zippa was standing in the corner of the fence before the storm arrived. Two of the other horses Revey and Tully were facing his bum, trying to shelter their faces from the approaching storm. With tensions high because of the energy in the air, Zippa kicked out at Tully through the fence. Tully copped the kick right in the chest, luckily she was ok.
Zippa on the other hand injured himself, getting caught in the wire. He was in shock and scared of the high winds. He was beside himself and there was no chance of catching him, even after an hour trying in the dark. It wasn't until the next day when we went to check on him that she noticed the swelling and the separation of skin down his leg. He has been given bute and antibiotics daily as well as a tetanus antitoxin and vaccination.
This has come at a great cost to the rescue but we had to act fast and that is what we did to make sure Zippa received the best care.
On top of this bale prices are just so high. Ridiculously high to be honest. $150 per bale and that’s the best price we can get them in one of our locations…
So tonight, we are counting on you to help us raise $1,500. This will help pay off a portion of Zippa’s vet bills and make sure we can stock the shed with hay. It is just so important we raise this money.
Just $5 from each and every one of you would help us get there. $5 is the cost of a cup of coffee with your mum on mother’s day but one that will help the horses so much.
