Dear Loyal SABBR supporters, it’s been ages since we asked for help, but we are now in desperate need! Our dogs need you!!! Please read this post & help us to continue saving the lives of WA Staffy & Bull breeds! We’ve had some shocking medical emergencies lately that have completely drained our bank account and we are now faced with the harsh reality that we need to clear our bills to be able to continue to save the lives of more dogs.
We are having to turn away dogs because of this, and these dogs have nowhere else to go. This is really stressing us out and is keeping us up at night! Having to worry about finances on top of the behind-the-scenes running of SABBR is really getting to our team. These are 2 of the boofas you will be helping by donating.
JETT - an 18 month old bulldog and still a baby. We rescued him from the pound when no one came for him. In his foster home he started pulling up lame and limping. We had Jett seen by our vet and we were told the devastating news…he has cancer in his femur. Jett was crying from the pain of his leg and could no longer do the things he loved (like go to the park), so we followed the vet’s advice and had Jett’s leg amputated. He was sooo much happier without the deadweight causing him pain! We had further testing done and discovered that Jett has an aggressive cancer that will most likely spread throughout his body and Jett will lose his battle eventually. We have spent close to 10k on this boy with the vet visits, 3D scans, leg amputation, overnight vet stays, medicines, histopathology testing. We know he doesn’t have long to live, but we are going to make it the best year of his LIFE! We will be making him a bucket list and ensuring his knows that he is loved before he leaves this earth. It is not a happy outcome, but we tried our best and now have been hit HARD with the bills.
At the same time as all this, poor ARLO, our gorgeous happy boy was tragically hit by a car. Arlo was rushed to the emergency vets who saved his life. He suffered shock due to bleeding into his abdomen and sustained lung damage. Poor Arlo also had swelling on the brain and we were told to brace for brain damage! Arlo was a fighter and surprised us all when he awoke the next day with no brain damage. His left leg now drags on the floor when he walks and we need to wait to see if this nerve damage is permanent. If so, we will need to amputate his leg. Arlo is so lucky to only walk away with damage to his leg…it could have been a lot worse. For now we need to pay the bills for his costly emergency life-saving treatment and prepare for further possible surgery to amputate his leg.
So tonight, we are asking you to help us out. To help us clear our vet bills and be able to sleep easier. We need to raise $12,000 (gulp).
We’ve been tossing and turning completely stressed out about what to do. You can see, all we are trying to do is help our precious babies have the best possible life available.
Can you please chip in just $5? It’s the cost of your next cup of coffee in the morning but one that will help save more lives. I’m hoping that when I wake up in the morning a miracle has occurred. Please share this post far and wide.
