Mental Health is an ever increasing issue within our community. 45% of all people will suffer from a mental health condition at some point in their lives. Numbers are even greater in our Emergency Services.
We are losing too many workmates across the sector each year, to these ever increasing mental health issues. Our personal and professional lives, and those of our families and friends, are affected.
I am participating in this Tribute Trek, Side by Side with some incredible associates, colleagues and friends from Victoria's Emergency Services, because I believe that more must be done. We CAN make a difference to the lives, well-being and hope of so many. And you can help...
Our Trek aims to raise awareness of the mental health issues across all of our Emergency Services, whilst raising much needed funds to facilitate the development, expansion and improvement of mental health support services, directly for our Emergency Services workers.
The Kokoda Track is physically challenging and mentally draining. As Emergency Service workers, we work amongst, and deal with, confronting and challenging scenes every day. Many times, even at the same scenes together. We work side by side. We are challenged side by side. We suffer side by side. We must support each other - so join us, as we walk side by side, together, for each other, and in support of this great cause.
Every step will count, and every cent can make a difference.
