URGENT HELP FOR DONATIONS – THE CALLS KEEP ON COMING IN – PLEASE SHARE
We urgently need your help tonight. We are in a desperate financial situation as we approach Easter and can’t do this without you.
The calls keep on coming in. Again and again. It’s continuous and we can’t say no. All of the other rescues around the area are full and we also know that AWL also has closed one of its branches to cats.
Every hour I am getting a call. Our vet bills are mounting by the day but it breaks my heart to say NO. It’s too difficult emotionally knowing that the other option is them being put to sleep. So, we keep on taking and finding foster carers to step in. That’s actually been the easy part. The hard part is that most of these cats and kittens are in the worst condition imaginable.
The ones with ringworm, bacterial infections, cat flu, cleft lips, manx syndrome, leg deformities - the ones that cost medication, surgeries and spend time in care - the ones that are harder to rehome - the ones that would suffer and die if we didn't step up.
Like Toothless, abandoned on the street or Harry who was left behind when the owner went into care. Unfortunately most of the time they have been let down by their previous owners, not always out of neglect but they need to go to the vets and we need to foot the bill.
The situation is tough at the moment. I won’t lie. We have the foster carers who are willing to bottle feed and stay up into the wee hours of the morning helping us, but the vet bills are out of control. I need to let you know that. I need help tonight. Our committee needs help. We urgently need to get these vet bills down to continue to keep our promise to our poor kittens and cats. To keep on saving them.
So tonight, as Easter approaches this week, I’m asking you all to do something magical. To donate just $5, the cost of a chocolate coated Easter Egg to help us save more kittens and cats and bring our vet bills which are in the tens of thousands down. We’ve set ourselves a target of $20,000 and I am counting on you to help us. It will be the best thing you do before Easter, I promise.
