URGENT HELP REQUIRED – PLEASE SHARE THIS POST LIKE CRAZY
Pip arrived at Kaya’s Mission several weeks ago after being surrendered due to concerns with her back legs. When Pip walks her legs flick outwards and at other times she drags them causing her nails to be worn down as a result.
At times you can hear her feet drag across the floor when she walks. Upon initial assessment we believed that Pips issues may have been due to Hip dysphasia and we prepared ourselves for surgery and the rehabilitation required for dogs that receive this surgery. This week Pip was desexed and hip x-rays were completed while she was under a general anaesthetic. To our surprise the x-rays were unremarkable, there was nothing to suggest hip dysphasia however unfortunately this has now sent us down another path.
Today we transported Pip to CARE vet specialists in Collingwood as the concern has now shifted to neurological issues. Basically this mean that there maybe pockets of fluid or cysts in her brain sending inappropriate signals to her little legs. Further X-rays were completed to rule out any luxation of her neck which has also now being ruled out.
Pip will now require and MRI and spinal tap to locate the cause of her issues. The cost of Pips medical treatment inclusive of MRI, spinal tap, X-rays and initial spaying is currently over $3,000.
Pip is just 10 months old and has the rest of her life to live. Pip loves life, she loves to run play and of a night cuddle up with her friends in a cosy bed.
If just 600 people donated $5 each we would reach our target and be able to sleep easier.
We here at Kayas Mission want to give her the best chance possible to continue her love for life for as long as it’s possible. Can you help us continue her love of life?
