URGENT HELP REQUIRED - PLEASE SHARE THIS POST LIKE CRAZY
Last week, SABBR received a horrific phone call that will stay with us for a very long time to come. Our newest rescue dog had escaped his carer's yard, whilst they were at work, and had managed to impale himself on a member of the public's spiked fence. Despite our checks, Baxter turned out to be a bit of a houdini when it comes to yards, and had gone looking for his humans. The rangers and fire fighters came into the scene to find a suffering boofa . We don't know how long Baxter was hanging from his leg for. By the time Baxter was found, he was suffering from heat stroke with next to no heart beat and cuts everywhere. The fence had to be cut around him as it was completely stuck in his leg, and he was rushed to the emergency vet at Murdoch.
Baxter was quickly put under anaesthetic where the piece of fencing was cut out of his leg, leaving a huge wound that we still don’t know if it has effected his bone or not. He was given IV fluids including strong pain relief and had a temp of 42 (8 degrees above normal) and was bleeding profusely. We didn’t know if he would make it and were told to brace for the worse - possible leg amputation, possible organ failure and the possibility of having to say goodbye! Baxter made it through his ICU treatment and is now awaiting surgery on his leg to repair the extensive damage to his muscle and tissue.
We urgently need to raise $6,000 for his surgery and vet bills. We are all stressed about this big amount but on the other hand we just can't leave BAXTER. We are counting on you tonight to help us. If just 1,200 of you donated $5 each we would reach our target. Please please give just $5 to poor BAXTER so we can all sleeper easier.
