Please support CAA by getting behind two local (and very) amateur runners and animal lovers, Andrea and Justin, who have been training since January to run their first ever marathon at the Gold Coast Marathon (#GCM2019) on Sunday, July 7, 2019.
Andrea and Justin contacted CAA about raising awareness and funding for not only the great work CAA does, but the plight of lost and abandoned animals in Central Queensland and indeed throughout the world.
To highlight this, the following is a brief overview of what CAA does:
- It costs CAA about $15,000 per month to do the great work they do - most of which is on vet bills, but also includes costs for insurance, advertising and website maintenance etc.
- In 2019, CAA have already saved around 120 cats and 90 dogs, which averages out at close to 6 cats and 5 dogs per week.
- A significant number were from the Rockhampton Animal Management Centre (the pound).
- CAA also work with the Livingstone and Biloela pounds and take private surrenders and abandoned animals as well.
Despite all this great work, countless more animals are simply unable to be saved, with far too many still being euthanised as a result of overcrowding, overbreeding, surrender and lack of education for owners.
Whilst the local councils have been working extremely hard with the various rescue groups to save as many animals as possible and the numbers saved have definitely improved in recent years, the work of CAA never ends.
Without organisations like CAA, rescued animals would not be saved and may never have the opportunity to find their fur-ever home or even worse, be lost to this world entirely. Choosing to adopt an animal rather than buy allows lost and abandoned animals another chance at life and, as adopters through CAA, Andrea and Justin can speak from experience when they say it is such a privilege to be those people. So please show your support for CAA, as well as Andrea and Justin, by spreading the word and if you can, making a donation.
All proceeds go towards CAA and are tax deductible.
CAA, Andrea and Justin, but most importantly all the animals helped, appreciate your ongoing support. Without your help, CAA would not be able to do all the great work they do.
